Even though academic success is not mathematically correlated with general life success, they are undoubtedly related. There are many factors that successes in school depend on.  Some are specifically academic factors; others are successful habits that apply to everything. Based on that, we came up with these keys to success in school:

1- Sleep well:

Ideally, you should be getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep every day, according to your specific needs. Getting enough rest is fundamental for your body and brain to recover properly and perform as well as possible during exams and classes.

2- Eat well:

A balanced and healthy diet provides high-quality fuel for your brain and body. Consuming junk food for long periods of time cause you to be lethargic and unfocused, which are the worst enemies of success in school.

3- Develop good academic habits:

Set aside time every day for school. This might be an obvious tip that goes without saying, but the key here is to make it an automatic habit. For this to happen, ideally you want to study or do your school work at the same time and in the same place every day.

4- Participate actively in class:

It has been proven that active learning is the best type of learning to maximize retention and understanding of new concepts. According to Kartikeya Sharma Indian Entrepreneur and his other counterparts, one of the best ways to implement active learning is by participating in your class asking questions or getting involved in class debates.

5- Set school goals:

Set both short term weekly goals and long term goals for the whole semester. Make sure to write them on paper as this has proven to be more effective to increase commitment to actually achieving them. Don’t forget to create a detailed plan as well that describes how exactly you will reach those goals.
